This movie sucked, why the hell does it have 8 stars?

Seriously, I turned this crap off within 40 minutes. How the hell could anyone finish this movie?

now these are classics
so just comparing it to all of these is really really immature..
really GROW UUP!!!!!!!!!

This coming from someone for whom aside from his 2nd grade caliber of grammar, makes use of the intellectually dubious and vacuous "worst movie evar!!" as a critical argument.

This movie is a classic. If anything about it sucks, it's Faye Dunaway's clothes and hair. Everybody else in the movie looks 1930's; she looks 1967! No one wore their hair like that nor did they dress like she did. The costume designer and hair stylist on this film did right by Estelle Parsons, why did they mess up so badly with Dunaway, the female lead?

Wow and you call yourself Jane Doe.He was obviously being sarcastic.

because you're wrong.

God, it's people like the OP and all the people agreeing with him that keeps Hollywood generating crap movies. You want fast, quick explosions with a stupid plot and lots and lots of sex! Let me guess, from the OP's name and how they are knocking the movie I bet the think that Vin Diesel movies and the Matrix are classics!! To those who say “it's only considered good because of the shock value for it's time”. In that case then “The Godfather” needs to be taken off the list. People were horrified at what they saw from the gangsters, introducing a somewhat realistic light of the mob which made the movie what it was upon release. The editing and photography of Bonnie and Clyde was astounding in that many of the best editors still copy it today. The use of tight, quick cuts from his gun to his eyes, then to hers at the beginning proves this. It had no panning and no music during the scene. This created a feeling that you can’t even create in your own mind. It was a simple “he’s showing her his gun” so what? Right? But they made it seem nervy with the genius editing and direction. The movie is filled with this kind of stuff. Everyone here thinks themselves as a great critic, but you know nothing. Continue thinking that “Pirates and the Caribbean” is a masterpiece and go learn something.

I know it's futile responding to posts from years ago, but throwing a random Vin Diesel movie and The Matrix together in the same bucket is pretty ridiculous.

reply

OP, study movie history and learn something about them and then come back and post when you have something intelligent to say.

Even if you don't like the rest of the move, just the last minute and a half make it worth 8 stars (especially if you don't know what's going to happen. Unfortunately I did, but my brother didn't and he was really blown away)

Jeez, what's wrong with you people?! I've never seen this movie, and I don't think I will. But that doesn't mean I'm oblivious to the fact that there are other people out there that like movies I hate. Get a hold of yourself, this movie obviously has an 8 because "OTHER" people enjoy it, unlike yourself. Get over it already, I'm sick of IMDb users like yourself.

is there any reason that you plan on never watching this movie?

Well, it's not that I don't want to, but I don't rent older movies, because they skip all the time. I could set up a netflix account, but I never have. I don't know, maybe I'll spot it on TV sometime.

I enjoyed this movie but I read a lot about Bonnie and Clyde and they didn't show the major events that happened and objects that were used. Also, Bonnie had brown hair not blonde. Since this was based on a true story, they should at least show it correctly.

I first saw this movie in a film class and I was really not interested in it. Then it started. I was drawn in from the first frame. This movie is beautiful in its own ironic way, and the performances are some of the best I've ever seen. I wanted to watch it again immediately. I'm going to finish this movie OVER AND OVER.

@ OP said, "I turned this crap off within 40 minutes. How the hell could anyone finish this movie?"

i totally disagree here.

cause the movie still has good acting (characters are interesting) and i think that's what ultimately makes it good ... i sorta knew what was going to happen though when i seen it for the first time last night since i seen the story's on bonnie and clyde on history channel etc etc, so i knew how it was going to end... i also noticed that in the movie that they used Tommy Gun's and in real life they used a gun called 'BAR' ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/M1918_Browning_Automatic_Rifle ), so that part of the movie might have been a little off but close enough... still a good movie ;)

however, i do think the movie is a 'little' overrated (it's @ 8.0/10 26K+ votes... i think it probably should overall be lower 7's, cause in my opinion 8.0 is a tad to high)... cause like someone said on another thread, there's movies that are rated like high 6's or low 7's that 'might' (i know not everyone will agree on all movies etc etc) be better than this.

all-in-all, i give it a 7/10... it's still 'pretty good' and has a nice classic feel to it and i think what ultimately makes the movie good is the 'acting' (Faye Dunaway/Warren Beatty/Gene Hackman) as the characters where interesting.

p.s. im 28 years old for anyone who cares about that sorta stuff.
