Tokyo drifter vs. branded to kill

I have not seen either but i am going to buy branded to kill today ( Icant find it at a video store and think I will like it). So I was wondering if the movies are similar to each other and which one you liked better.

Branded to Kill is far supperior IMO. It's pure madness! Tokyo Drifter was just decent. A very mixed affair and the weakest of the Suzuki's I have seen. May I recommend Youth of the Beast - my favorite Suzuki as well as one of the 60's best films.

Branded to Kill is WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY better -- moodier, more atmospheric, more inventive, paced in a more interesting way, and has so many insane moments (the part where he throws the gas in the place and shoots it; the guy who falls off the roof; the guy who lives with him who is going to kill him; the rice), it's just the best film ever.

This film is great too of course but it's bested by PISTOL OPERA, which almost seems like a remake at times.

"Tokyo Drifter" is a hell of a fun ride and probably has better action sequences than "Branded to Kill".

However I think "Branded to Kill" is overall much better. It goes much further in it's absurdity to the point of being surrealist, with great imagery and a surprising level of suspense.

Also that scene in Branded to Kill with number one taunting him over the speakers right before he gets shot.is one of the most awesomely moody and intense climaxes in an action film, up there with "The French Connection".
