SHOULD NOT HAVE WON BEST PICTURE!

Five words: Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?

"Ahhh!...and boom goes the dynamite."

This movie is kinda boring at times, but other times it's pretty lovely. In those days, you have to remember, movies like WOOLF didn't win Oscars. At least not the BIG one.

DANCES WITH WOLVES won over GOODFELLAS, and GOODFELLAS has stood the test of time MUCH MUCH more and is considered a CLASSIC while WOLVES is just a good movie.

THE EPIC SCOPE movie always wins over something dark and murky. PSYCHO sure didn't win. Was it even nominated? CITIZEN KANE, considered by many "the greatest movie ever made" and even if you hate it, it was groundbreaking. And HOW GREEN WAS MY VALLEY won. Ugh.

So there you have it. The OUT OF AFRICA days were over, finally, when SILENCE OF THE LAMBS, basically a high budget exploitation flick, won the Golden Cow. Then things... kinda changed. But back in those days especially, this kinda flick won. And for that, it's not too shabby.

Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? is a masterpiece in every sense of the word. As flawless as they come.

I rented A Man for All Seasons a while ago and while it was very well made and acted, it bored me too much for my liking. I even watched it a second time to make sure I hadn't missed anything and my opinion stayed the same afterwards.
