Innerspace vs Fantastic voyage?

Which was more fun?

The only thing that comes to disappear nobly and beautifully is the sun.

If Martin Short is in something, then I automatically vote for the opposite. Fantastic Voyage it is.

Well, you missed out, cause he was great in Innerspacs

Fantastic Voyage all the way.

One thing Innerspace had that I loved was the great Kevin McCarthy. In his later years he was hysterical. When he and the lady evil scientist are shrunk to the size of toddlers it cracks me up!

If the defining characteristic is "fun", then it's Innerspace. Innerspace was intended to be a comedy while Fantastic Voyage was not. Innerspace was also intended to be fast-paced while Fantastic Voyage slowed down to a crawl at some places.

However, Fantastic Voyage is more technically slick than Innerspace. They went more into the science of what it would be like to explore the human body. Yes, there were still some theoretical holes (like the sub still staying in the body while the rest get out), but it still did better than Innerspace. If you compare the films, Innerspace actually had fewer shots of the inside of the body and focused mostly on the dialog between Martin Short and Dennis Quaid.

I enjoy both movies for different reasons. I think they're both equally enjoyable.

I tried to like Innerspace, but it was too goofy to take seriously. At least with Fantastic Voyage it was a serious story and mostly made sense. Innerspace was trying too hard to be funny and failed.
