TOS or TNG? Which is better?

I grew up on TOS. Cant get into TNG, gimme TOS👍

Overall, I suppose TNG is better, but it had a lot more episodes, no budget cut final season and generally more freedom to tell different stories. The Klingon material is very good, and the percentage of really bad episodes is lower.

But, I prefer TOS. It was fresher. And, for the lesser number of episodes, it has a higher rate of excellent episodes even while it has a higher rate of bad ones.

TOS! DUH! TNG was horrible the first 2 seasons. Even though TOS is older, TNG looks so outdated and cheesy.

I like them both, but if I could only ever watch one of them again, it would be the 1966-1969 series.

TOS by a landslide. The original cast/characters can't be beat, especially the main four (Captain Kirk, Spock, Bones, and Scotty). The only main one I don't like is Sulu.

On the other hand, I don't like anyone on TNG except for Data. Well, I liked short-lived Tasha Yar too, but only because I thought she was good looking. There was nothing interesting about her character (same goes for Uhura on TOS). Picard was an old geezer (he was 47 when the series began, about a dozen years older than Shatner was when TOS began, and he looked about 67) and too diplomatic. Also, some of them actively annoyed me, which goes beyond merely not liking them: Wesley Crusher and his mother, Deanna Troi, Guinan, Riker, Worf, and Picard whenever he said "numbah one" or backed down from a fight. And Worf, despite all of his bravado and "warrior" talk, routinely got his ass kicked.

Despite all that, TNG did have some entertaining episodes, which is more than I can say for DS9, which was just a soap opera with no good characters, and some especially annoying ones to boot (e.g., Ferengis). That show was so forgettable that even though I watched a lot of episodes when they originally aired (nothing better was on in its time slot), I can't remember the basic plot of even one specific episode, nor can I even remember any specific characters.

TOS. But, I've watched it too many times so I watch TNG which I enjoy, also.

TOS but I should note that I haven't watched that many TNG episodes. I prefer the TOS main crew (Kirk, Spock, Bones etc.) to the TNG one.
