What's your favorite Monkees song? I have to go with "Papa Gene's Blues" followed by "Look Out (Here Comes Tomorrow)", "Randy Scouse Git" & "For Pete's Sake".

"The Girl That I Knew Somewhere". As a kid this was the first song I ever learned the words to!

Also, "You Just May Be The One" and "Pleasant Valley Sunday" - love that guitar work!

This one is hard! Most of them are Micky Dolenz songs, lol! I love them all, but my very top faves are:

mary mary, prithee(do not ask for love), i'm not your stepping stone; zor and zam; mommy & daddy; sweet young thing, love to love, long title: do i have to do this all over again, etc. Too many to name, like I said!

My favorite Monkees song is 'Words.'

"What Am I Doing Hanging Round" - without a doubt, then later, "Heart And Soul". Followed by anything with Nez's vocals and everything else they did is joint next on the list lol. Seriously, I love all their stuff. It's just too hard to rank them, really.

There are many between 1966 and 1968, but "Mary Mary" is my all-time fave.

This is tough, because I like just about every song, released and unreleased! If I had to absolutely narrow it down to a handful of favorites----

Hard to narrow it down to just one...'The Girl That I Knew Somewhere', 'The Door Into Summer', 'Goin' Down', 'Tapioca Tundra', 'Daydream Believer', 'Listen to the Band', and 'Oh My My' are all favorites of mine.
One fantastic track that seems to have been completely overlooked is 'Of You', an early outtake. Sung but not composed by Michael Nesmith (the writing credit here goes to Bill and John Chadwick), the instrumentation is very similar to 'Papa Gene's Blues'. I think it's one of Mike's finest moments in or out of the group.
