Man this movie sucked. I loved the book but this movie is just terrible. Hopefully someone will do a remake even though I hate remakes, but I think this movie deserves one.

WHY OH WHY don't movie companies remake movies that NEED remaking? This is a prime candidate! It could be greatly improved with better acting and other changes. It does serious injustice to a wonderful book.
shareI would have to agree. I read that book and loved it (probably the only Newberry Award-winning book I'd ever read in school that I actually liked), and everyone in my 4th grade class thought the movie was dumb and a very poor interpretation of the book.
