-John in the bathtub

-"we're out!" and the Beatles run around having fun

-John in the bathtub

-running with the police officers

-John in the bathtub

-the concert

and...the best of all
-John in the bathtub!

I should note that I was crazy enough to pause where John went under to see any little peek-a-boos but nothing...idiot was wearing swimming trunks! Darn it...

reply

The bathtub scene was a classic! And the panicked look on the managers face. John comes up from behind....hehehe.

And the whole "orgy" bit, the band runs out of the hotel room...

The hall scene....

"Paulie's" Grandfather...LOL. I wasn't even a thought when this movie first came out (was born 16 years later), but, it's one of my top rated comedies.

Stop the world and let me off!

John in the bathtub.

The boys in the hotel room with the fan mail.

George shaving the mirror (Shake's face).

George in the office (shirt scene).

Playing in the field to "Can't Buy Me Love".

And of course, Paul singing "And I Love Her"...mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

reply

-The very opening scene when they're running.
-The train scene (from 'Who's that little old man?' to 'Let's get a coffee and leave the kennel to lassie'.)
-John and George in the bathroom. John being all cute in the bath always makes me giggle, but George shaving the mirror is definitely the funniest!
-The press conference. "No actually we're just good friends." I love their answers!!
-George and the modeling place. It really gives little ol Georgie a moment to shine. I love him. ^_^
-Can't Buy Me Love. They all just act like little kids again, jumping around and goofing off!
-I'm happy Just to Dance With You. My favorite song and I melt everytime George sings it! (And his laugh about 3 seconds before the actual song starts is so cute!)
-The scene where they're all doing something goofy in the dressing room or whatever. "Ringo, what are you up to?" "Page 5." And Pauls' "SHAZAM!!!" is sooo funny!

And uh....I think that's about it!!

Screw Wizards of Waverly Place and Shake It Up. I like WALT Disney!!

The opening sequence.

Where Ringo wanders around alone and becomes a "deserter".

The press Conference

John in the bathtub .

The scene where The Beatles are running and playing in the field.

The audience in the final concert film scene.

Although the actual performing of their songs were good, I really liked Ringo's walkabout scene when he went down by the canal. It was so natural. An instrumental version of 'This Boy' was playing. It seemed so evocative of how I view the 1960s. Ringo was a natural in the film. I liked him best of all.

reply

Must say I completely agree about Ringo's scene, ganglehog.

I liked John's scene on the staircase with the woman "you look just like him..."

While I never disliked "If I Fell," I think when I saw this movie for the 2nd time --- as an adult and in a theater during a film festival---it really made me appreciate this song so much more for some reason.

reply

I'm pleased that you liked the Ringo walkabout scene. Referring to John's staircase scene, I bet the Beatles got those type of things said to them by the general public then. No doubt a lot of the youth of the time were trying to achieve the Beatle look. 'If I Fell' does really come across well in the movie. Plus it is a good song anyway. I just wish I could get a copy of that instrumental version of 'This Boy.' It's so cool.

reply

The instrumental version of This Boy is called Ringo's Theme (This Boy Instrumental) on the Capitol Records release of the original soundtrack. I got it as a gift from my big sis when I was almost 6 y/o after we saw the movie together! Still have it. Don't know if that album is part of the Capitol Records CD "American Issued" collection.

Not saying you didn't already know this, but I have to help a Beatle fan in need!

reply

Thanks for letting me know about the This Boy instrumental. I shall look out for the Ringo's Theme title. I will check the Capitol records collection and others. I hope that I get lucky.

reply

I just checked at amazon.com, and the CD-issues-set of the US Capitol albums does NOT include the A Hard Day's Night soundtrack album. This is probably because Capitol did not consider it "one of their own" (and largely overlapped Something New anyway) as it was ORIGINALLY issued in 1964 by United Artists records (the studio that made the movie); and it wasn't until the late-1970s when Capitol bought United Artists records that it bacame a Capitol issue. The two companies were apparently originally "taking turns" releasing 'official' movie soundtrack albums of the Beatles, as it was Capitol that issued the US Help! album. Capitol also issued Yellow Submarine on Apple, but then it was United Artists again that distributed Let It Be, on Apple as well (perhaps not again until then because it was THAT film, not Yellow Submarine, that was the Beatles' 'third contractual film' for the studio). Curious thing, United Artists let Let It Be go out of print after a while, and it was unavailable (on vinyl, anyway; Capitol apparently was the distributor in TAPE formats) for a few years in the US until Capitol bought out the company, and re-issued the album (on the Capitol label, as in 1976 Capitol abandoned labeling anything as "Apple" anymore).

reply

Thank you for the Capitol albums information. It looks as though I may have trouble tracking down 'A Hard Day's Night' soundtrack album. I have entered 'Ringo's Theme' randomly as a cd track to see if anything comes up. But no. I cant' find it on a current issue. I hope Capitol will release it sometime.

Here's a link to a YouTube video of the track, if that's any help:

That was a lucky break that 'Ringo's Theme' was fresh on youtube. They must have known that I really wanted that track.
