Pales in Comparison with 'The Waltons'

If I had never seen "The Waltons", then, who knows, I might be able to tolerate this movie. But I have seen "The Waltons." I've seen every episode many times over. I don't just like it, I'm in love with it. And this movie cannot hold a candle to it. In every area important -- acting, character development, story development, overall writing -- "The Waltons" is vastly superior. While "The Waltons" is both interesting and heartwarming, "Spencer's Mountain" is dull and creepy. When I'm not yawning out of boredom, I'm cringing -- usually during the "love" scenes between Clayboy and his Amazon girlfriend. If you're a "Waltons" lover, don't bother with this dreck.

The exquisite scenery that they photographed was well worth the price of admission. I cry at very few films. This was one of them. Hands down better than The Waltons.

I was crying, too, but clearly not for the same reason. Please know, however, that while I disagree with your opinion, I do respect it. Different strokes for different folks, as they say.

That is what a board is about. Every single person who posts on this board is a unique individual who has had different experiences, different things they favor or dislike, different pet peeves or things they have become drawn to that will influence their feelings about a movie or television program. As long as you don't denigration any posters for their opinion, you can post just as they have.

Not necessarily. Sure The Waltons have way more plots and story lines and the movie has just one aspect of it. (If you like one, you'll love the other). My mother has told me this was the very first movie I ever saw...mind you I was only one year old at the time.

If you want to go by real life, Jim Bob is four years older than my father and seven years older than my mother.
