The Haunting is one of the best ghost story adaptations ever made. It's a very clever horror film.

I've seen this film far more than 100 times since the Sixties and continue viewing it a number of times each year. Who knows?! I might be heading on 200 viewings. I've watched it five times this year alone; twice this month thanks to TCM.
It's one of my all-time favorite films and definitely among the top horror/haunting/supernatural films of all time! In my 60-plus years, I have watched literally thousands of movies, many of them in this genre. So, I have a solid basis for judgment. After all those viewings, several scenes STILL raise goosebumps and send chills dancing in my spine. It's BRILLIANT!
The only good thing about the remake was the house design. The rest... I think I've watched it twice and am not anxious to see it again.
