Dementia 13 on DVD
Can anyone tell me which of the many DVD versions of "Dementia 13" is the best quality? I watch DVDs on a large screen and image quality is very important.
Both the Dark Image DVD and Roan LD are disappointing.

Im watching it on the "great horror classics" dvd which has that and 3 other movies... its quite good quality, should be good enough for anyone whos not too stuck up hifi-jerk.
Its also in this horror box with 49 (!) other movies, and you can get it for 15 bucks. Well worth it.

I bought my full screen version at WalMart for $6 under the title "Cult Classics Collection 2". It contains 4 movies total on two discs. Good quality.

I have the "Fright Night Horror Classics" dvd along with night of the living dead and revolt of the zombies. but it had pretty good quality for the price of 6 bucks.
Why are we walking like this?
I just watched the Firght Noight edition -- rented it from Netflix -- and wasn't too happy with the quality. Not only was it a lousy print of the film, but the picture rolled and broke up several times in a way that made me wonder if the DVD was made from a VHS copy of the movie. Still, if the purchase price is only six bucks, then what can you expect?

I guess that Roan Group released a really nice version a few years back that is now out of print. It has the film in its true 1.66 ratio along with the original prologue, theatrical trailer and a commentary by actor William Campbell aka Richard in the movie. Unfortunately i haven't actually seen this DVD so I can't confirm the information.
shareYeah, this is the problem with my copy....but I bought it for $1 at a grocery store and was pleasantly surprised with the movie as a whole, so all's well.

Prince Prospero,
I have that same box set (50 movies on 25 discs and the quality is excellent! for 15 dollars, the box was worth it!)
i got mine from roses, some crappy department store.
it was the classic horror, with night of the living dead and rites of dracula on it. dolby digital sound and decent visual quality.
8 bucks
I just got Dementia 13, Night of the Living Dead and White Zombie for 99 cents each at the 99 Cent Store. LOL. Good deal in my opinion!
Now watch this drive! - You know who

I bought a Horror Collection that had 18 movies with it for 10 bucks at Best Buy. It's not bad.
It's going to be gone soon, enjoy it!!!
I own the Goodtimes DVD of "Dementia 13;" it's an acceptable and watchable, if overall unexceptional quality fullscreen presentation which I picked up at a local Best Buy in a two-for-the-price-of-one valuepack with "A Bucket of Blood" for only eight bucks. For the cash I paid I got my money's worth.
shareCan anyone tell me what copy of Dementia 13 on Amazon.com contains the audio commentery. Thanks.

It says that it's a Troma release, but it's in conjunction the Roan Group. Oh, and it's out of print so you'll have to buy it from other sellers. I got lucky and got a new copy of eBay for less than 10 bucks.

I imagine they are all about the same.
I got one from the Movie Trading Company in Dallas, Tx that is a double feature. It contains Night of the Living Dead and Dementia 13. Plus, there are some old commericials for toys, an old Popeye cartoon, and an old Superman cartoon, and the DVD menue looks like a theatre screen. It makes it like you are at the movies in the 60s. Pretty cool.

Do any versions contain the psychiatry test at the beginning of the movie talked about in the "Alternate Versions?" If not, when was this version cut?
