Is it good for TZ fans?

Hi! I just wanted to ask if I should watch the Outer Limits being a die-hard Twilight Zone fan. I just adore these kind of shows (One Step Beyond is another favorite of mine) and I was wondering if OL fans are also TZ fans?? Do you think I'll like it? What episode's the best for you? An answer would be appreciated.

I agree with an earlier point, i.e., the episodes tend to drag.

If you like Twilight Zone then you should like these Outer Limits episodes:

Galaxy Being, Architects of Fear, The Sixth Finger, O.B.I.T, Nightmare, Tourist Attraction, The Zanti Misfits, Don't Open till Doomsday, ZZZZ, The Invisibles, Bellero Shield, The Children of Spider County, Second Chance, Moonstone, Fun and Games, The Special One, A Feasibility Study and The Chameleon from the first season.

These are more in the style of the Twilight Zone in my opinion.

Oh, no, if you are making your life my choices; the answer is no DO NOT watch OL. In fact I forbid it.

I think I am taking all of this rather well.

I've seen all episodes of TZ and can say for sure that so far into the first season of OL it is superior to TZ, but only because it took so much from TZ.

I liked some of the episodes of TOL, but it got a bit tiresome with so many "monster" episodes. I thought TZ was more original, with more variety, and usually better written. TZ won a bunch of Emmys; TOL didn't win any, although it won a Writers Guild of America award late in its run.

As a fan of TZ, and Rod Serling's Night Gallery, yes, TOL is well worth watching. I like all three shows, as well as Star Trek, the original series, and Alfred Hitchcock Presents. (There is a lot of cast crossover between all of these shows, as well)

I grew up watching both shows in the original runs and I've always preferred TOL. TZ is an excellent show, many great episodes, but it tends to be too maudlin and preachy overall for me. TOL is hard core sci fi. Sometimes the effects and "monsters" are cheesy, but you overlook that for the unusual and stimulating concepts that the show was featuring. Just great ideas, well scripted and acted. If there had only been more restraint with the creatures or something more "realistic", they'd probably be showing TOL marathons today. TOL I think had a heavier, more serious tone than TZ too. Maybe I was just a morbid child, lol.
