Cry of Silence

Those tumbleweeds scared the heck out of me! But I always felt sorry for the aliens who travelled so far and were unable to communicate with humans.

A favorite episode of mine. Imagine being stranded in the desert. No way out and weird things happening.

Anybody else like this episode?

It's hard to look at tumbleweeds the same way after watching this.

Yes, and I thought it was the stupidest thing I'd ever seen the first time I watched it. The second time I thought it was below average but had its moments. Now I actually like it, accept its being somewhat ineptly handled, am charmed by the frogs, even though they're supposed to be sinister. Just like frogs, I guess. I'm also fond of tumbleweeds. Overall, not scary at all. More dramatic than anything else. Arthur Hunnicut gives the most effective performance. Any number of players could have done the leading roles but the old man of the frontier had to be cast just right, and it was.

Yes, I liked it from the first time I saw it. Of course it made me laugh, but it was also fascinating. I think it will always be known as the "killer tumbleweeds" episode, although that's not very accurate.

PJPURPLE???? "I Love Lucy" and "Bewitched" PJPURPLE?????

The Outer Limits has been a huge favorite of mine ever since I was a kid. Had no idea you also like it!

I'm going to be purchasing the first season on Blu Ray soon. What about you?

As for this episode (from season two, I believe), I haven't seen it since I was a kid. I remember Eddie Albert stars
in it. Will have to check this out again.

Aaaah yes, gbennett!

My tastes are eclectic. I like Mozart and Bach, but I also like foot stompin' country music too!

The original Outer Limits scared the heck out of me when I was a kid. But I still watched it. Now I'm not so scared. (mostly!)

The tumbleweed episode made me afraid to visit the desert. It also stars that wonderful character actor Arthur Hunnicutt.

I didn't know that the series was out on DVD. I've been watching some of the episodes on TV. We get a few channels which show the old sci-fi series. I've also watched a few of the new Outer Limits. But for my money, this show was superior in black and white. The same goes for the rebooted Twilight Zone and Alfred Hitchcock. They were the types of shows which benefitted from the moody, other worldy atmosphere of black and white.
Maybe that's where Lucille Ball went wrong. LOL She should have kept The Lucy Show in b&w. Those episodes were a lot funnier than when the show went to color.
