I know folks don't like to be bothered with this, but....

Let's just imagine for a moment that the '91 remake was never made and doesn't exist. If someone decided to remake this film today, who would be good in the leads? And who should direct? I know remakes have become overdone and pointless, but I'm just curious to hear any answers.
