slightly dirty joke

I just watched 101 Dalmatians today. It's been a couple years or so since I last saw this movie, and now I noticed a joke that I didn't remember was there before.

At the end when the dogs come back and Anita sees all the 99 puppies, she says, "Where did they all come from?" Then Roger says, "Pongo, you little rascal!"

How is that a joke?

that's not the idea I had. I don't think he was refering "only" to Perdita, if at all...if you understand what I mean. One dog can only er...provide so much.

When I was little, I always thought that Roger meant he had gotten into a lot of trouble trying to rescue the puppies - you know he was a "rascal" for causing so much trouble. LOL. I never thought about that until now.

Same here. But now that it's been mentioned, it does seem pretty obvious. Man, I have to watch this again.

I think I get the joke now.

Wow I can't beleive I posted this three years ago. Now at age 23 I finally get it now after seeing this thread. He thinks Pongo mated with Perdy again and had more puppies.

And you didn't get that when you were 20?

Why did the moron beat his head against the wall?...because it felt so good when he stopped.

What an interesting thread this turned into. I thought that was funny when Roger said that.

reply

C'mon! That was in 1961! No one would hurt a fly back then.
Also, it's "you old rascal!" not "you little rascal!".

I noticed that as well. I found it funny, but also a little off que with the rest of the jokes. It made me laugh a lot more now than when I was older, because I didn't really understand it back then like others have said.

Aren't there a pair of naked breasts somewhere in a window in some other Disney Classic? At the moment I can't remember which one... (or if that's at all true or just my imagination).

reply

Yeah in the Rescuers, but they have since fixed it on the dvd.

jensen and jared are always there to make my thursdays supernatural!!

reply

omg i have seen this movie a million times and that never registered in my brain lol.

reply

I know!!!!!!!! Disney movies were so innocent when we were little but when you watch them when your older there are these little dirty jokes here and there.

In Pinocchio characters say "jack@$$" about 3 times... NOT referring to a donkey. But then again back then it wasn't really considered a curse word. At least I don't think so... Happens alot. Also with some of the innuendos in Cars, I think it should've been rated PG, not G.

reply

i know this isnt in dalmatians but i watched toy story with my nephew the other day and im pretty sure woody called buzz "buzz light-beer" when he was making fun of him.....thought it was a lil weird

reply

In Toy Story 2, when he saw Jessica do all the tricks to letthe dog out of the bedroom to go to the bathroom, his wings popped up, get it?!!?! LOL

reply

I don't think that was meant to be a dirty joke, the reason Roger said that was because he thought that all of the puppies were Pongo's and Perdita's. Had he not thought that then he and Anita might not have kept them all.

There was a visual joke something like this in "The Thin Man Goes Home", with Nick and Nora Charles' wirehaired fox terrier, Asta. While the Charleses are staying at the home of well-to-do relatives, the host family's dog - a female Scottie - seems to be indifferent to Asta throughout the picture. At the end of the film, though, just as the Charleses are getting ready to go home, Nick Charles sees the Scottie emerging from her kennel followed by four puppies: three little Scotties, and a little wirehaired fox terrier pup! Nick's finger-shaking reaction is priceless!

reply

I didn't think of that as a dirty joke before.. initially I thought it meant he knocked perdita up but it can't be so I thought it's because he brought so many puppies home and creates trouble like what others said.
