Saw it in 1961. Loved it then, love it more now. I was obsessed with the song "Cruella DeVille". I was very into animation and enjoyed the design as well as the xerox process, where you could really see the animators raw drawings. Did not realize it then but it was the beginning of "modern" animation.
Many people were not happy with these innovations, they were nostalgic for the old "ink and paint" style. The older animation seemed more fluid and clean, but once you got an eye for the new stuff - it was great.
Sort of like the jump from James Whistler to Pablo Picasso.

I saw it at the cinema in the U.K. as a kid, I think 1986ish. I enjoyed the film but what I really loved was the storybook and read-along cassette that my mum bought for me afterwards. The book and cassette were an official Disney release so the illustrations were basically frames from the movie. I remember the cassette was read by Anton Rodgers and he was great at doing all the voices. I loved that book and cassette and read and listened to it over and over and over.

I saw it in 1961, and every re-release thereafter- I had the book, record album, coloring book, comic book and view-master package.Years later, I got a re-release poster and pressbook from 1969.I STILL have all of them- and more.

Me, too. Had four tray puzzles my mom bought me for Christmas based on the film. One was of Pongo in front of the clock that he sets forward.

I desperately wanted to when it was first released in 1961, but I couldn't go. I finally saw it on my big-screen high-definition tv last night, which was probably better since I didn't have to be surrounded by hundreds of talking, shouting kids and their stinky popcorn, with my shoes stuck to a filthy theater floor.

I did, in 1961 as a , and again in 1969.

I remember seeing the original animated Walt Disney version of 101 Dalmations, and I enjoyed it a great deal. Don't like the way the Cruella seems to be coming out, however. I will not watch it.
