very atmospheric

A very creepy and atmospheric film with a fun hammy Vincent Price. Roger Corman is a master.

the ending looks like a rave party, this entire movie seem to take place between a few actors in a room and the house look off somehow from the outside, quite still then comes blasting out by the end. i was surprised this was made by corman, i expect those movies to look very low budget and usually in black and white. the release version i got of this had the alternative title "fall of the house of usher" that made me think this was the third part or something in a series of movies starting off with "house of usher". i read that this had been filmed many times and critics considered this to be the best version. the funniest bit was the gruel wonder, and the line "is there no end to your horrors" could be viewed as pessimistic guy beside him, the paintings were a riot. the running time is typical corman though, i missed the twilight zone contributor until i came here.

the ways of a woman all around,
in suit so long time i forgot,
changed to a dress blessed forms luscious self,
big brown hair like an animal scratched my chest,
venus being setting me in a spell,
i had decided to leave,
to realise its not up to me,
like acceptance of the weather not a thing i could do,
youre just like a science fiction had me possessed like a lost fool,
as you were playing it cool,
inconsiderate leading me anyway you chose,
wouldnt let me break the spell pulled some venus magic i didnt stand a chance,
attacked the heart in a bite and dragged it back to your feet again.

It looked nice, but it wasn't creepy at all, especially considering the source material. The romantic subplot was such nonsense.
