spaghetti on a tennis racket!

am i the only one thinking this is pretty unhygenic?

Unhygienic?!? I agree in regards to the tennis racket being used as a spaghetti strainer but knowing what goes on in that apartment on a regular basis, I'd say Baxter has a lot more germs to worry about than whatever is on the tennis racket.

I don't care how many sets of sheets he has in that tiny apartment or how often he launders them; it’s NOT enough. What he needs is a black light and some extra heavy-duty cleaning supplies so he can inspect then scrub down every surface and every inch of that apartment.

I find it unhygienic as well but have to admit I know of at least one person who has actually done it.

I think there is some anachronistic thinking at play here - We view this as something crazy now because in our minds we envisage he should be using a sieve.

However the plastic kitchen utensil revolution had not really began at the time this film was made. A cheap sieve simply did not exist. Therefore it was quite common for people to improvise in their methods of spaghetti drainage.
