Just a friendly reminder to anyone upset that Sleeping Beauty features a woman being saved by a man: Prince Phillip would not have been able to rescue Aurora if Phillip had not himself been rescued by Flora, Fauna, and Merryweather (all female). They freed Phillip and his horse from their chains, they gave him his weapon and armor, they protected him from falling boulders and flying arrows during his escape, and they enchanted his sword to kill Maleficent.
Exactly. But there's still absolutely nothing wrong with a man rescuing a woman, contrary to what society may say about it. I personally find what Phillip did incredibly brave and romantic, and wish male characters were still allowed to be so chivalrous and heroic without the political correctness police screaming sexism while it's considered wonderful for women to rescue men.
Besides, women can't do everything ourselves. Neither can men. Aurora couldn't do anything about her curse, Philip couldn't get out of the prison alone, and the fairies couldn't wake up Aurora themselves.
There's nothing wrong with men saving women in movies, I think what matters more is their personality and character development. One of the things that always made me sad about Sleeping Beauty was that we never got to see much of Aurora, as I always wish they had a few more scenes with her. The fact that she got saved by a prince never bothered me.
(Though I will say, it would be boring if every female character got saved by a man. So I do enjoy when it happens the other way around, too).
I don't think there's anything wrong with men rescuing women. It's nice. I'd also like to see stories of other kinds of rescues. Women rescuing men. Women rescuing women. Men rescuing men. There are all kinds of variations to be explored.
And, in this one like you said, it's women rescuing a man who rescues a woman.

And Flora, Fauna, and Merryweather wouldn't have been able to rescue Phillip without their magic wands (neither male nor female), which did all the work. They couldn't even make a dress or a cake without their magic wands, despite having printed instructions and illustrations for both tasks. They were utterly inept (what kind of women can't even cook or sew?).
Phillip still had to wield his sword and shield effectively; they were controlled by him, not by magic. That actually takes skill and bravery (especially when a giant dragon is trying to incinerate you), unlike simply waving a magic wand and *poof* it's done. Credit goes to Samson too, his sure-footed horse (also male).

It kind of implied Merryweather did both the cooking and the clothes. "You can't sew and she never cooked!" as she quoted.
