Feminists dont like the supernatural

Sleeping beauty and other fairies tales are not all about damsels. These suppose damsels are chosen to be protected by supernatural forces. The origin of this story is far darker. Sleeping beauty is a heathen that is protected by supernatural creatures who are very vengeful. Feminist who dont study folklore and the supernatural misinterpret these tales as being sexist. Cinderella is more witchlike than anything her name goes back to the hearth. Snow white is also another damsel who is protected by supernatural creatures. Many thought that some people made pacts with these creatures. THe princesses are a prime example.

Did feminism even "exist" as far back as the early 1950s?

reply

Yes. Ever hear of the Sufferagists/Sufferagettes, or Rosie the Riveter?

But I don't believe feminism was at all popular in the 1950s, but I suppose this film could be called "feminist" anyway. It's about four powerful women fighting over a girl, with hardly any appearances from men.

Of course feminism existed (why the quote marks?) in the early 1950s. And it still existed in the very late 1950s when "Sleeping Beauty" was made.

The only thing I'm not crazy about in this film is how Aurora's waist is about the size of a thumb. It looks like she could snap in half.

Imagine all of her intestines crammed into that tiny space. She must have suffered terrible digestive pain.
