Submitted for your approval : Episode "The Comedian" of the new "The Twilight Zone"

Would love to hear everyone's opinion of this new incarnation of The Twilight Zone, based on this first episode that they have made available on YouTube (don't know if it will continue to be available so you better watch it while you can).

Already gone...

:(

CBS All Access on youtube is US only, even the trailers.

I watched it last night and felt it was way too long and totally derivative of prior TZ episodes. Also, it reminded me a bit of the "Friday the 13th" series (no relation to the Film Franchise of the same name).

The hour long structure makes things drag. They would have been better off having an hour filled with multiple stories-- similar to Night Gallery.

Saw it. It was OK, but it was too long (learn from the original - half hour is enough), and not as stylish as the original show. The characters were irritating at times. I felt the ending was good, though, and it took the episode up a little bit.

All in all it was what I expected from this reboot.. not as good as the original and way too light (both in style and substance). Gonna try a few more eps.

I actually thought it was ok..I'll certainly be giving it a shot and see what else they bring to the table..

But aside from rebooting old TZ eps they hopefully will bring in some new stories because most of the old TZ have been copied in some variation or another over the years and will seem familiar to even new viewers.
The absence of Rod Serling as host is sorely missed.

Meh. Like other people said, the story dragged on too long. Also, no one in the episode was likeable, or even consistently written--is the comedienne a bitch or a friendly competitor? Is the girlfriend a bitch or a supportive partner? Sometimes it's one way, sometimes the other--even within the same conversation.

Amateur writing, no sense of story pacing, ugly and inconsistent characterizations, and dialogue written with a tin ear. I rate it one star out of four.

I find it strange that nobody is commenting on the totally unnecessary use of foul language. I'm no prude, and get
that it works for certain films, but come on, Serling wrote masterpieces without resorting to this (and, yes, I'm aware
he didn't have a choice, but that's beside the point).

Aside from this extremely unattractive element, I found "The Comedian" fairly good. It WAS derivative, but so was
Serling. I thought Diarra Kirkpatrick walked away with the show, and was more intriguing than the actors who played
the lead and his girlfriend.

The show seems stylish and well-done, but it seems to lack the MAGIC of the original.

Peele is impressive as producer, much less so as host.

I'm willing to give other entries a try, but I'm far from blown away.
