“Kick the Can” kids
Was just watching the 1962 “Kick the Can” episode and thinking that the little kids shown in that episode are now about the same age as the retirees were in the episode.

shareThe older I get, the more often I have thoughts along these lines. This episode first aired four days before I was born, so at least I can take comfort in the fact that they're all older than me.
shareTrue, but a lot of people in their mid 60s today look and act a lot younger and engage in more strenuous physical activity than kicking a can.
shareI just read that Tom Cruise is five years older now than Wilford Brimley was in "Cocoon". Age ain't what it used to be.
shareI guess eating Quaker Oats isn't all it's cracked up to be.
shareMy Mom was mortified when she learned Brimley was younger than her.
But that was his shtick, the old (over-weight) thoughtful curmudgeon.
By the way, while Mom died way too young (not even 54), she was always pretty and petite, so she shouldn't have worried about Wilford.
