Who was your favorite female character?

Mine might just be Pat Carter from "Nick of Time." I like how she, not Don, was the strong one in the relationship. And that The Mystic Seer's spell on Don is ultimately broken because of her intervention. I can see characters like her being part of the DNA of Ripley and other beloved modern female icons.

1. Bunny Blake (Maggie McNamara) - Ring-A-Ding Girl" - For her personality.
2. Marilyn Cuberle (Collin Wilcox) - "Number 12 Looks Just Like You" - For her fight for individuality.
3. Miss Turner (June Dayton) - "A Penny for Your Thoughts" - Just cause she's nice.
4. Pat Carter (Patricia Breslin) - "Nick of Time"

Honorable mention to Claire Griswold - "Miniature" - who had no lines.

Agnes Moorehead- woman- The Invaders- She stopped an alien invasion. That's impressive.

Susan Harrison- ballerina-Five Characters in Search of an Exit
Arlene Sax-nurse - Twenty Two
These two were hot as hell .

Apparently I have an affinity for unnamed characters.

reply

Patty (Susan Cummings) - "To Serve Man" - She alone figures out what "To Serve Man" really means. Plus, she utters one of the most memorable lines in possibly all of media.

Ballerina: "We're nameless things with no memory, no knowledge of what went before. No understanding of what is now, no knowledge of what will be." What a badass.

Yes, and with only a broom.

Anne Francis as Marsha (The After-Hours)
Anne Francis as Jess-Belle (Jess-Belle)
Susan Harrison as Ballerina (Five Chanters in Search of an Exit)
Jean Marsh as Alicia (The Lonely)

reply

Anne Francis is so hot and so brilliant in both "The After Hours" and "Jesse-Belle."

Vera Miles as Millicent Barnes in "Mirror Image." Her speech about parallel worlds mid-way through the episode is one of the eeriest moments of Season One.

reply

Yep, Anne Francis was Amazing in the Zone and so beautiful.

reply

I don't know if I'd consider her my favorite, but I love any time Jeanette Nolan shows up.

reply

I liked all the women mentioned. One of my favorites is Inger Stevens as 'Nan Adams' in "The Hitchhiker". That was a great , for the most part, one woman performance.

reply

Her facial expressions during her voice overs were spectacular.

I also liked her in "The Lateness of the Hour." She made the most of the awkward videotape format.

reply

Yes, forgot about her performance in "The lateness of the Hour". Her performance was so full of emotion. Such a beautiful actress, died way too young.

reply

When they re-programmed her ... brrr

reply

Agreed about her in Lateness of the Hour, her facial expressions came to life in the Stage-like visuals in that episode.

reply

I'd agree, kr. I'd also add "Charlotte Scott" as portrayed by Hazel Court in "The Fear" and Anne Francis' performance in "Jess-Bell."

reply

I liked Charlotte Scott's character arc.

Anne Francis was brilliant but why her character saw anything in Billy Ben is beyond me. She deserved better ... much, much better.

one of my picks is a lady that don't exist in the tv episode but on the radio drama version of the hour long "thirty-fathom grave" episode, as the episode's main fella is being put away in the sick bay era where she works, she's very stable but at the same time very supporting and what you would want i suppose as your mind was slipping as his appeared to be doing in the eyes of the rest of the crew. as for other picks, both of kate jackson's radio appearances had her starring in great parts, one being the favourable to many it seems "the hitch-hiker", and the next pick may seemed a bit messed up, but i also liked her cleopatra role because its so atmospheric and mystic, it would be more far out if a woman of that origin had actually played the part though. but there are so many its kind of an impossible question to answer, here are to name just a few more, "jess-belle", helen foley (also in the twilight zone 1983 movie), the cruel and hilarious little girl in "caesar and me" (kind of like an early take on family guy's stewie as she plans to take out her aunt with poison darts), the main role in "number 12 looks just like you", laura in "the incredible world of horace ford" just for putting up with horace ford.

completely missed the stop at howard johnson's,
with your charm distract,
my head sharp as a cracked egg,
where suppose to steer off,
your flair up sweet as syrup,
with special ingredients you got inside,
could eat you alive,
as keep down the road,
with you dont miss at all,
passing the last howard johnson's.

reply

Definitely Nan Adams in "The Hitch-Hiker."

reply

I agree, that was an excellent performance from Inger Stevens.
