Best Dracula Film?
Does anyone think this is the best Dracula film ever made?
shareYes, all the Hammer Dracula movies are my favorites. One of the best horror franchises ever made.
shareIt's up there with Coppola's version for me... if the ending wasn't quite so abrupt, it might take the top spot.
shareNo.
The best Dracula film is the silent Nosferatu followed closely by Drácula (1931 Spanish) then the iconic Bela Lugosi version also from 1931.
I hate the 90s one, it's just awful!
The Bela Lugosi version is a boring stagey film, and Lugosi's version of Dracula is more like a cuddly uncle than someone sinister.
shareYep for me it is

It's my favourite although Nosferatu (the 1922 version) is very close behind.
While Lee's interpretation is in some ways quite far removed from the Dracula of the novel, his is the version of the character which I always think of first. Perhaps because it was the one I was familiar with as a kid (the Hammer movies used to show on TV all the time), or perhaps because he is so damn iconic in the role.
Technically my favourite film in the franchise is Brides of Dracula, but as Dracula/Lee do not appear (or, from what I recall, are mentioned), I guess it doesn't 'count'...
I’ll take it one step further: I think Horror of Dracula is the best vampire movie ever made. Period. It does everything right, and for a movie that’s over 60 years old, it’s lost very little power.
shareI don't know if its the best but I love it
