The 1997 movie adaptation was cringy AF!

They had a thing back in the 90s whenever they would make a movie based off a 50s or 60s TV show, they would have the characters dress like their counterparts from that TV show and the decade it was made in and it sure looked weird. Leave It To Beaver takes this factor up 11 and it sure sticks out like a sore thumb. While I didn't mind it in other adaptations like Dennis The Menace (1993) and The Little Rascals (1994), here, it looks tacky as fuck in Leave It To Beaver (1997). It doesn't feel right, at all. Like the dress code was nothing like that in the 90s. It was way too different by then.

What blows my mind is that the 80s TV series sequel doesn't have the characters dressing 2 or 3 decades out of style. The 80s sequel has them dressed in the current decade, yet the movie adaptation came out in the following decade and has them dressing like it's still the 50s-60s. To quote the AVGN: "What were they thinking!?"

I loved it for the Brady Bunch movies.

That was fine. It works like a parody film in the same vain as Austin Powers, but a lampoon on the 70s, instead of the 60s.
