Commercials spoil this Grand Epic

I am amazed at how brilliant the colors are this year. The detail is phenomenal. In past years, I've always been disappointed by the drabness of the color whether it was due to the age of the print being screened or just my TV. But this year, I am blown away by the beauty.

My only complaint is the bazillion commercials chopping it up and ripping the continuity to shreds. Since this is such a beloved film, couldn't ABC find it in their hearts to show it with limited commercials? One or two commercials every 45 minutes or so would be plenty to keep this movie profitable.

Just my two cents as I HATE commercials!

If your library has a copy on Blu-ray or DVD I recommend borrowing a copy. The specials features alone are worth it.

I think my library has a DVD, however the only copy of the film I own is on good old LaserDisc

I completely refuse to watch this film in a TV broadcast. I have the large-box DVD/Blue-Ray set and will go to a movie theatre when it's on the big screen. This is a film that needs its roadshow showing without interruption for commercials and without removing any of the amazing footage.

Saw this on a big screen the week before Easter and it was outstanding. I sat close enough to feel like I was in the picture.

Well, the Overture, Exit Music and Intermission (which is what they cut out of the TV broadcast) aren't absolutely essential IMHO.

You can now rent it in ultra high definition on YouTube with no commercials.
