Did they realize their darling kiddies were watching the story of a naive young female who's unhappy at home, so she takes up with a trashy guy who gets her pregnant, and then he moves in and sponges off her family?

They got away with it because the main characters are dogs.
It is clear that Disney's human romances had to be much more chaste than this.
