She looked athletic, like a gymnast. Her legs are tiny, but very well-defined and muscular. I thought both women were beautiful in this movie. There are many sisters who are built differently, and both looked nice.

On the close-up, they seem to show veins. She was not well and was anorexic but was a great dancer. That Mandy dance she did; few could do. She was very talented but not in good health; too bad she couldn't get help.
shareI have always thought she was way too skinny. I just assumed it was from all the dancing because she looks like she also has muscle. I haven't seen her in anything else though to compare.

Vera-Ellen looked perfectly normal, healthy, and strong. A professional dancer like she was spends several hours a day, at least six days a week, in strenuous classes, rehearsals, and performance, which burns a huge amount of calories. Her legs were spectacularly sculpted and athletic.
