Unbelievable perfomance by Karl Malden

He outshone Marlon Brando, which is not a easy thing to do. Brando was spot on as always, but Malden had this kind of energy that made everyone disappear when he spoke. What a great scene-stealer !! Anyone know any great Karl Malden performance ? I can't say I'm familiar with this actor.

Tell your brother he's on my to-do list, right after 'inserting needles into my cock'.

Actually, Malden's performance was very believable - more so than Brando's, to be sure. In fact, many of Brando's co-stars in most of his movies were superior actors - Malden, Cobb and Steiger, to name a few.

His police-detective character in the early-1970s TV series "The Streets of San Francisco" sometimes seems inspired by this role. And yes, this was a great performance.

He was fantastic in this and Streetcar. He really should've won the Oscar for this.

Found Father Barry a bit sanctimonious.

No way, no day did Malden outdo Brando in this film! Are you serious?
