Which performance among this great cast did you like best? My pick is Fredric March. I think he gives a superb performance as a weasel trying to get his way to the top.

shareHolden, Stanwyck and Nina Foch give amazing performances in this film. This is a superb cast and, as others have noted, makes ES an outstanding and memorable movie!

I give props to Fredric March who is really good as Shaw but Louis Calhern stole the movie as Caswell. But I love the wonderful cast with the exception of June Allyson. I find her annoying in any part she's played.

Nina Foch's performance was the one that impressed me the most even as a teenager, followed by Fredric March and Barbara Stanwyck.
