Seriously "The War of the World" battle scenes were filmed were filmed using California National Guard personal and equipment In many states the National Guard lagged behind the US Army when it came to integration. Until the late fifties the state of California was as bad as many southern states when it came to hiring.
None the less it seems strange no minorities appear in the evacuation scenes or the earlier scenes of people listening to news of the Martian attack.
