Does anyone else think this movie is just average?

I'm quite interested to know if there are any of you who didn't think this movie was as spectacular as most of the people on this board believe. After watching this movie, i felt kind of empty. Not because of the ending... but because i didn't really buy their "chemistry" or "love" or whatever you call it. In the end, i didn't care for any of them... is this because i've watched too many movies with similar tones/plot? (I'm sorry this isn't a very good elaboration on my part). In any case, i really look forward to reading your views on why you didn't like this movie.

I felt the movie was above average, but I don't have the feel of it being an "all-time great"...
I recommend everyone watch it and I did really like the way the ending resolved, just its a little short of great...

7 / 10

This movie is easily a 10. I think what the OP and perhaps others are not getting into is the kind of humorous 50s milieu. Now it looks silly, 'empty'... even gauche? But I love it, Always!

Slightly above average, but only for Hepburn and Peck. The beginning dragged on way too long with too much set-up. The first 45 minutes could have been condensed to about 20. The two characters could have used more interaction and dialogue to build their relationship up a little bit more. But I did like the ending.

I give it a 7 out of 10. Not great but definitely a nice 2 hour distraction.
The dialogue was superb and the interaction between Gregory Peck and Eddie Albert made the film, in my mind. The Italian characters from the cab driver to the apartment manager were fun as well.
Besides, Audrey Hepburn is cute as a button.

Yes, watched it today and thought it's way too average to be called a classic. Rome is beautiful but that's not enough.
