Am I the only person who is surprised to find Richard burton was only 28 when they made the robe? He looks more mid thirties....

I've only just finished watching it and I was thinking the very same thing. I was surprised when I learned he was only 28 when he filmed this.

He was a heavy drinker, that will age you.

Burton died at 58.

If I remember rightly he was all set to star in Wild Geese II when he died. Edward Fox had to take over as his brother.

Well there is make-up, and the fact that people just looked older in that generation. I mean the average lifespan for men was 68.

However, life expectancy in the US has been decreasing since 2019, falling to 77 years in 2020 and 76 years in 2021, which is the largest decrease over a two-year period since the 1920s.
