There is a Positive side to Remakes

Remakes do suck 99.9% of the time but they serve a good purpose, IMO.

Remakes can cause people to go and watch the original when they may have never watched it before. Also, when a movie is remade, the DVD/Video of the original is easier to find because the interest has been sparked. So, in that regard, I like remakes.

House of Wax (1953) was a remake and it didn't suck. In fact, if you compare the original film and House of Wax, they are rather similar.

To me, the putrid "House of Wax" is trying to copy "Tourist Trap", not "House of Wax" (1953), which is a very good remake of "Mystery of the Wax Museum" (1933). So, we're still waiting if someone wants to try a REAL remake of the Thirties/Fifties films.

Paris Hilton?! Sheesh!
