shareIn the mid 70s Kubrick withdrew A Clockwork Orange from circulation in the U.K. Throughout the 80s and 90s I was offered many opportunities to see bootlegged copies but always turned them down in the hope of seeing a fair copy. I'm glad I resisted because I eventually saw it for the first time on a cinema screen not long after Kubrick's demise.
I have a hunch that Fear and Desire will one day be officially released and I for one will be pleased I resisted viewing a tired, grainy, scratched and, to be frank, illegal copy.
If you can't count it or measure it it's an opinion and not a fact.
I would be interested in a copy whether VHS or DVD. Please e-mail me at [email protected] with all details.
Also, if you could, please include the following with your reply --- on a scale from 1 to 10, how would you rate the quality of your copy ?

This Makenshi guy was probably lying, for he never answered, but if you download a program called eMule you can, then, download Fear and Desire from other persons around the world who got it, everything for free. You must have a good connection, though, because the file is too big and it will take days to finish, but some people here really want to watch it, so...
eMule uses some sort of link to know what is the file you want to download called Ed2k. This is the Ed2k for Fear and Desire: ed2k://|file|Stanley%20Kubrick%20-%20Fear%20And%20Desire%20(1953).avi|738387968|0A309F4BF049074A6DC1335141B63455|/
I can't be sure about the quality of the file, I've just put it to my list of downloads some moments ago, but there is a commentary attached: "Image quality ghastly. Probably from old VHS". Considering the movie, that's not a surprise.
Well, that's quite it, good luck on that.
Ps: With eMule you cand download most of the movies. Any movie, in fact. Well, you just think that if it had Fear and Desire, what wouldn't it?
