I know many ILL fans aren't particularly interested in Lucille Ball's film career, but I feel I must recommend Lucy's guest appearance in MGM's lavish musical, "Ziegfeld Follies." Filmed in 1944 - the year Lucy almost divorced Desi - she follows Fred Astaire's opening number, "Bring on the Beautiful Girls." Looking absolutely dazzling in a gorgeous pink gown atop a white horse in a huge carousel, Lucy goes into a bizarre number, where she proceeds to "whip" a gaggle of women, dressed like black cats!

This sequence is highly recommended if you've never seen it (it should be on Youtube).

You know...I have the strangest feeling I might be GAY.

I have seen some of Lucy's MGM stuff. I'm not a big fan of musicals though. Lucy does dazzle the audience in these early numbers of hers though.

There's one film that I saw her in, but I can't remember the name of it. Nancy Walker ( Rhoda's mom Ida) was in it.

That's "Best Foot Forward." Lucy plays herself. One of my favorites. Nancy Walker is a scream.

Lucy also did dramas. "The Dark Corner" is a good noir from1946.

I've always liked that movie of hers "the fuller brush girl' she was hysterical in that.

I haven't seen that since iwas a small kid. I vaguely recall a scene where she's tied up.

Oh yes, thanks. I agree about Nancy Walker.. Also great as Rhoda's mom, McMillan's housekeeper and user of the "quicker picker upper"! (Bounty)
