Ann Todd was 41 when she played this supposedly young woman. She looks more like a fierce schoolmarm through most of it, certainly not a romantic naive ingenue. I enjoyed the film but the part would suit someone 20 years younger far better. This miscasting was sadly distracting.

Yeah, too old. She could pass for a woman in her early 30s but not her early 20s.
