Why would they all have been on trial together? I fail to see what Barbara Payton shooting her two timing boyfriend had to do with prison guards taking bribes or corrupt cops.
shareI took it as a trial for the conspiracy which began with (it turned out) killing Hartford, the supermarket guy, the robberies, bribery, and ended in the triple murder of Rohmer's collectors... and Paul/Ralph himself. All participants are charged equally.
