A Darwinian love story
Let’s face it. The theme of the movie is:
“My Mom is young and pretty and deserves a handsome strapping man to love her and unless you’re that man I’m going to be a holy terror! ...But if you ARE that man, I’ll be a good, well-behaved little boy.”
The film is unflinching in its honest depiction of human nature.
But I can’t say a homely dude like me can truly “enjoy” it.
So my review is this: It’s a well-made, honest, straight-forward movie. In the modern parlance, it is politically incorrect.
All of which is good.
But be warned: It is also friggin’ PAINFUL.
