the ending....
just didn't seem realistic. no alcoholic will just give it up on the spot like that because they're going to write a story about it to make things all better.
shareIn those days you had to have a happy ending, unless the protagonist was a tragic hero. This guy is no hero, therefore this ending. The ending has a tacked-on form as a hint to the viewer not to take it seriously, that everything that happened in the main part of the film is what is to be paid attention to, and the ending ignored.
