I'm a big fan of French cinema but...
...this film doesn't do it for me, and I can name at least 50 French films better than Children of Paradise.
shareI like this movie, and I probably can't think of 50 better French movies. Maybe the issue is that this film, though French, is very much in the style of Golden Age Hollywood films (e.g. It's the French GWTW). So if you are used to French films you might not like this as much.
This so why Truffaut loved it so much, since he was such a fan of American cinema.
