Recommendations for similar films?

Can anyone recommend some other old films that may be similar to this one? Preferably in that relative era (1930s-50s). I've already seen Rebecca; The Ghost and Mrs Muir; The Spiral Staircase; Footsteps in the Fog. I'm trying to find some more "forgotten gems" that suggest a similar kind of atmosphere.

There are many haunted house/ghost movies. But I'd argue the best of the best are:

1. The Haunting (1963)

and then:

**The Uninvited (1944)
**The Others (2001)
**The Innocents (1961)

There are other noteable efforts, but I think these are the "purest".

Not spooky, but I would recommend The Enchanted Cottage.

The most atmospheric is The Innocents with Deborah Kerr, based on The Turn of the Screw, by Henry James.

A Place of One's Own from 1945 is very similiar, just set in a different era.

"The Unseen"(1945) if you can find it. It's a mediocre follow up to "The Uninvited" with Gail Russell and directed by Lewis Allen. It's entertaining but not the caliber of The Uninvited. But it's worth a look.

And "The Night Has A Thousand Eyes" Quite an entertaining film again with Gail Russell and an outstanding performance by Edward G.Robinson.
