Overrated
As with most films in the 40s, the acting was terrible.
The dialogue is artificial.
The characters are just caricatures with no depth whatsoever.
It's so boring.
Yeah, it's overrated.

Yeah, it's overrated.
The acting was good. Great in some areas.
The dialogue fits just fine. With some great bits of comedy and tension.
The characters are three dimensional with their plans and agendas.
It's got a good pace that keeps moving and fantastic scenes.
Yeah, it's perfectly rated.
Can't stop the signal.
"The dialogue is artificial."
Yeah, that's why it's one of the most quoted films of all time.
"Forget it, Jake. It's the internet."
It's only quoted by a very small circle.
shareA very small circle that includes just about everybody.
Earth without art is just "eh."
Really? None of my friends do it. None of their friends do it. And none of their friends do it?
Most people can't even remember any quotes because its instantly forgettable.
You actually have friends? You must behave a lot better in public, or at least show some sign of intelligence when you're not on here.
shareAs with most films in the 40s, the acting was terrible.....The characters are just caricatures with no depth whatsoever. You made me curious. See your recent post topics are concentrated on X-Men, Arrow and Supergirl.
X-Men, Arrow and Supergirl are not the best, but they're better than the cr@p we got in the 40s.
shareHumphrey Bogart's performance is one of the top 10 greatest performances of all time, troll.
sharethat is subjective, even if the performance was a great one. But clearly the OP is just looking for a chain to yank. My guess is his dad made him watch.
shareThe kid has crap taste, simple as that; it's not based on a video game, so he couldn't deal with it.
shareSo you think Mad Max, Kingsmen, Dark Knight, Guardians of the Galaxy, Star Wars, Shaun of the Dead, James Bond and Lord of the Rings were based on video games?
Hell, my highest rated video game film is at like 6/10 and in the 133th place on my favourite films list.
He didn't like it because nothing blew up.
Earth without art is just "eh."
OP, you prefer films with action fantasy or comedy and think the problems of little people don't amount to a hill of beans. There's loads of great action films knocking about though so good luck to you.
Personally I find the majority of them poorly scripted, badly acted and with characters that actually are based on caricatures. Their plots tend to be so contrived as to make Liberace blush and the dialogue as memorable as Bill Gates' tie.
Each to their own.
I'm of the belief that there is room for all types of films. I love comic book films but I also love watching films like Casablanca.

Well yes, of course there is room - but the OP's preferences are obvious. A cursory glance through their roster of watched films indicates their preferences pretty strongly. Highly rated items there are almost exclusively fantasy action and occasional comedy anything else gets short shrift and a poor rating.
His tastes are obviously more narrow than your own. Different strokes.
