Why is spade so indifferent when hearing his partner is killed?

What's wrong with him?

reply

He didn't like him, and he was sleeping with his wife.

What can be asserted without evidence can also be dismissed without evidence.

He didn't really like Archer that much. His mission to right the wrong is just a matter of professional ethics. Besides, Spade is cool. Even if he did feel emotional about Archer's death, he doesn't make a habit of putting those kinds of feelings on display.
