Did Chaney deserve an Oscar?
1939 was a good year for movies and I think clark Gable won for GWTW,I think Chaney's Lennie was better!
shareThis was a good film, but 1939 was a really competitive year with much stronger movies in the race - and many not in the race. The climax was beautifully rendered, but the rest was mundane. Having never read the book, I wasn't impressed by the writing or story.
