Not banned, rather looked upon as a classic case of romanticism (i.e. playing up the good, playing down the bad).

Not true. There is now a new disclaimer that's apropos and HBO Max shows it uncut.

No it isn't. Just because they want to make slavery seem like something to be as cherished as time itself doesn't make it racist.
