I've been trying to trace a copy of this film for about 5 years now. I've contacted film dealers in both the uk and usa with no luck. I have found out that it has never been released here in the uk therefore can't be purchased here. I have issued a 'search' with black star but they too have been unsucessful. However, after contacting a film dealer in new york usa i have found out that the film is available to purchase over there. There is however a small catch, no dealer i have spoken to will be willing to export into the uk....legal reasons.....Having said all of this, if you do manage to obtain a copy could you post details here...
shareAny movie that rates 7.5 on imdb's voters' list translates to me as "your life will be richer after watching this", if not "you must watch this or you can't call yourself film-literate" (8+). In view of all the swill that the mass merchants and the movie studios put out on home video to meet a price for impulse purchases, why not put out the good stuff? Sure, it's only 165 votes, but I'd like to take a chance. I am assembling a video collection very deliberately, which means that I take care to avoid cinematic junk.
Bob Hope was not in the same stellar rank of such contemporary stars with Grant, Stewart, Bogart, Wayne, K. Douglas, Peck... and the voting shows for most of his films. At his peak he was very, very good. Most of us have good cause to admire Bob Hope, and we want to see him at his best. Is that unreasonable?
I recognize well that Bob Hope carried his vaudeville persona throughout his life, and that that had its limitations for film. He was not a dramatic actor, and he was quite limited in the sorts of roles that he could carry. For television and his best role, those shows in front of America's armed servicepeople, the vaudeville background was eminently suited.
As we all know, Bob Hope turned 100 this year and has recently died. I would not be surprised if this movie were released soon, most likely on DVD.

I recently purchased this movie on Ebay. Could only get it on VHS, however.
The quality if not very good, but all the Hope laughs are in it.
