While there may be no such thing as a perfect movie, this one comes pretty close. I remember reading somewhere that Lubitsch considered TIP his best film in terms of pure style. I'd go him one better and say it may be the most stylish movie ever, regardless of director.

It's certainly CONSISTENT, well paced. Kinda silly, not particularly funny, but largely amusing piece of inconsequent fluff. It's okay.

It's absolutely exquisite.

My first look at this film was from still shots, and judging by those shots alone my first premonition told me that this film may be great that it may be brilliant, and as I watched the film and progressed slowly through, I began to laugh, manically, and I laughed because I felt I really really felt that I and I alone had willed my lofty aspirations for this film into existence.
