When the distributors tried to show it in Berlin, Goebbels organized a riot in the theater. Other violent Nazi demonstrations followed until finally the Weimar government felt obliged to ban the film throughout Germany.
Raises the question: why is it that the right wing, then as now, is most likely to equate pacifist themes with lack of patriotism?
Maybe because the right wing thrives on stuff like segregation, superiority, jingoism and the like, whilst the left wing has other 'agendas' like equality, awareness and so on.
Evidently the Germans knew of this movie and there were special trains to take them to another country to see it. However, not much was learned about the senselessness of war.
Is that so? The part about the special trains. And, yes, no-one anywhere seems to ever learn much about the senselessness of war. There is some war going on at any given time. Yet we call ourselves civilized.
Right wing? I thought slavery, segregation, nazi ideology, apartheid are all from democrats and it was the republicans who fought to bring all that down?
While the Republican party platform was anti-slavery back in the 1860's, todays GOP does not resemble the Republicans of 160 years ago at all. The Democrats of old are not like today's Democrats either.
Idk it does seem the same based on media, worst even. The democrats seem to be pushing for pedophilia in schools while the republicans are still fighting them. They're teaching 5-10year olds how to masturbate and give oral while many republicans of different race and religion are fighting tooth and nail to stop it. Everything else like the kkk, segregation and pro apartheid are all historically stances and organizations started by democrats. As a foreigner, watching America impload and trying to revise their history is interesting.
Exactly who is pushing for pedophilia in schools and how are they doing it? Do you have a video or actual lesson plan? Who is making these claims? How do you know what party they are in?
Compared to 150 years ago, the democrats and republican are that in name only.
They are all woke sjws and liberal, just as Nazis were liberal. No one would associate them with republicans, they are the same democrats who were pro slavery, pro segregation, pro apartheid, pro NAZI, founded the kkk, etc etc.
As for a lesson plan, I think not pushing for sexual predatory lessons might help. I'm a foreigner from SE Asia, yet it is all over the news and clips are uploaded on yt of parents, teachers, school boards, etc. I'm sure you know what I'm talking about yet likely complicit in it all. You guys have been pushing pedophilia since the 60s and are only gaining ground the last few years. You are destroying yourselves and doing it happily. I don't care that's your country, but don't blatantly lie here, your history cannot be hidden nor revised.
5yr olds apparently. A lot of vids of American parents in complaining to school boards. Also many girls on my country don't do that, that's more of a western thing.

That country must be at the South Pole. ⛷️ 🙄

You are wrong. The Nazi movement was a socialistic movement which equates to our left wing movement. The reason Goebbels didn't want the movie shown is because Hitler wanted to conquer Europe and he didn't want pacifists in his country. Conservatives in this country are not warlike as you assume all of our modern wars were started when a Democrat was in office except the Gulf Wars.
Uh, no. The Nazi movement was not "socialistic," it was pure fascism, which is right-wing. Conservatives tend to get caught up on the "Socialism" part of the Nazi name (National Socialism), but I somehow doubt that any of them would accuse North Korea of being democratic, despite its official name being "The Democratic People's Republic of Korea."
I also like how you left out the Afghanistan and the 2003 Iraq war, both started by a Republican.
How do you define modern? I tried to argue with a person here one time and supplied sources to prove my point. It turns out he defined modern as post 2000.
Imo modern wars are all wars since the Gulf war of 1990. It got defined mostly by its targeted war thanks to cruise missiles and how it was reported. Before that, wars happened usually on the side, you read in news papers etc, but here CNN was showing "everything" live.

Ok, it's "modern" if CNN shows it "live".
Kind of point of view.
But neither WWI nor WWII occurred "on the side"...or on the site.

I would consider a modern war to be WWI and later. Smokeless powder, nitroglycerin compounds and aircraft made war much more deadly. There is a reason why WWI was called the "war to end all wars".
As I am aware, in science, modern war is defined with every war since the American Civil War/Crimean War, as they are dramatically different to the wars before. But if you would ask about modern wars in the public, I am quite sure, people would say the Gulf War is still counted as modern war (especially if you show pictures), while others before like Vietnam are not really modern. And one of the main points is the perception in the public thanks to reports on e.g. CNN.
