Was anyone attracted to Maria like I was?

I just watched this movie a few hours ago, and the one image that doesn't escape my mind's eye (besides the Metropolis itself, the large number of extras, the Robot, ETC) is Bridgette Helm, who plays Maria.

When she's Maria, she was absolutely gorgeous, actually, I would be more inclined to say she was cute.

Now, as Man Machine Maria, I'd say not so much, although I get the feeling that was supposed to be intentional.

Am I the only one, or was anyone taken by Ms. Helm's Maria character (Beauty Wise)?

I would be more inclined to say she was cute.

Five years later - I agree, especially with those perfectly formed lips, but boy when she portrayed the evil robot, she was spectacular. Loved the facial expressions - the evil just seemed to drip from her.

I have watched this film about five times in the last two years and look forward to when she goes over to the Dark Side.

I also have to fess up that I watch her Whore of Babylon dance in Slo-Mo. 😁
